Joyann Parker brings ‘The Music of Patsy Cline’ to the Park Center Enjoy the timeless music of Patsy Cline brought to life when musician and performer Joyann Parker returns to the Park Center stage on Saturday, April 22. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m.
According to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Cline is the most popular female country singer in recording history. She was the first female artist elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame and inspired scores of later singers, including k.d. lang, Loretta Lynn, Linda Ronstadt, Trisha Yearwood and Wynonna Judd.
Cline’s career was brief — she died in a plane crash in 1963 at the age of 30 — but her impact on generations of country fans has been long-lasting. She recorded the number-one jukebox hit of all time, “Crazy,” and her unique style and vocal skill established her reputation as the ultimate torch singer.
In this powerful stage tribute show, “The Music of Patsy Cline,” Parker and her band showcase the most popular of Cline’s songs. Audiences enjoy a true nostalgia trip as Parker weaves the stories of Cline’s life in and out of the music, performing songs such as “Walking After Midnight,” “Sweet Dreams,” “Crazy,” and more.
Vintage costumes and ambiance enhance Parker’s channeling of the classic vocals in this must-see show.
Parker has been twice nominated for Tribute Act of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year by the Midwest Country Music Association.
