New tracks were set today on all of the Drummond Ski trails.
This was the first grooming since we got a three inch snowfall alongside a quarter inch of ice with another five inches on top. Then the blowing wind brought another three or so inches, but with drifts in places caused by the blowing winds. Whew.
Our new groomer, Tom Hintze, did most of the work in compacting and then setting tracks. The drifts on the NCT Loop at Sally’s Overlook were daunting. He did have some difficulties, but managed to right the machine and continue on.
Good work, Tom.
Skiing should be good for several days still, but with the coming forty degree temperatures, this season’s life is limited.
