Detour - Morgan Creek Bridge closed for repair

June 5 through July 10

Morgan Creek bridge on Forest Road 199 in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest will be closed from June 5, 2023 to July 10, 2023. A detour will be in place northbound on Forest Road 187 to Forest Road 199. The Morgan Falls / St. Peters Dome Trail recreation area will remain open. Access the Morgan Falls / St. Peters Dome Trail recreation area from the north.

The bridge will be closed for a project to replace the superstructure and deck of the existing weight-restricted bridge on Forest Road 199.

“Replacement of the superstructure and deck of the existing bridge is to help ensure safe, efficient passage over Morgan Creek in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest,” said USDA Forest Service Technical Services Staff Officer Mark Beuning. “Be sure to plan ahead and allow for extra time to navigate your route while the bridge and part of Forest Road 199 are closed. Bring a map with you, even if you have GPS.”
