There will be a Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, July 19th at 11:00am for the American Legion Stokes-Liebman Post 487’s “Legion Triangle” Veterans Memorial. The memorial is located on County M one block from downtown Cable. All donors of this project, veterans and their families, and our surrounding community members are invited to be a part of this special event! If there’s inclement weather, the dedication will be held at Post 487 on Cty M-1 mile east of Cable.
**Military attire is welcomed!
The original American Legion Post 487’s veterans memorial-which is what the locals here call the “Legion Triangle” was first dedicated in the early 1960’s. In the past year, many improvements have been made to our veterans memorial that honors our veterans dating back over 100 years. We’re excited to share all that’s been done to make the memorial a place of honor and remembrance.
Our guest speakers will include: Lt. Col. Mark Mackey, retired Marine; Chamber Director-Heather Ludzack; Town Chairman-Jamie Holly; Commander James Kinzie; Gary and Julie Friermood. Also joining us will be the UCC choir.
If you’re attending this event, please use the municipal parking lot by the fire/town hall as Reynolds St. and Randysek Rd. from County M to Jenkins Rd. will be closed from 10:30am to approximately Noon. The municipal parking lot is approximately one block from the Legion Triangle. *The parking lots behind the former Brickhouse Café and next to the United Church of Christ are reserved for anyone attending the dedication that may have physical limitations.
Following the dedication ceremony, Post 487 invites you to stop in at the Legion for food and beverages. Any questions, please contact Gary at: 715-580-0683
