Gary Crandall, a member of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, has helped the Chequamgon Fat Tire Festival grow from it's 27-rider beginnings in 1983 (check out what episode this is!) to one of the monuments of mountain biking in the small northern Wisconsin towns of Hayward and Cable.
In this episode Gary recounts the early days of the ride, from early courses, the people who made the race happen and the riders who raced through the rolling trails.
While Lifetime now owns and manages the race, Gary continues to volunteer his time to make sure the event continues into the future.
